Everything Was Perfect!
The house and ‘apartment’ building were nicely furnished, as was the bar areas, fitness center, boutique, and massage area. The place was simply amazing! We just loved everything about Villa Cocomar. But the best thing was Maria and her crew. I just can’t say enough about their kindness and willingness to accommodate our every need. Honestly, they are what made the weekend absolutely wonderful!
Oh, and peacocks, ducks, geese and a cute goat roam the grounds. So much fun! We highly, highly, highly recommend Villa Cocomar!

What a Terrific Week
What a terrific week we all had at Villa Coco Mar! All of my guests join Judi and me in praising this wonderful experience. You employ such friendly people who made our stay enjoyable and worry free.
Juan is caring and attentive. Juana and Anna made every meal a tasty experience. I can’t count how many requests for recipes my group made to Juana. The housekeeping and grounds staff were unobtrusive and smiley.
We’ve rented numerous villas and homes over the years in DR and US, but yours shines the brightest. wonderful smile. Dean made sure that all of our transportation and tour activities went better than planned. Maria made the trip unforgettable with her tireless work effort (beautiful too!) along with the rest of the staff to ensure everything went well.
The massage by Miriam was worth every penny and more. The rooms and grounds of the villa were perfect.

Outstanding in Every Way!
Our vacation at Villa Cocomar was absolutely amazing. 9 couples went to Villa Cocomar to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday and all 18 of us would describe it as spectacular. The bedrooms and bathrooms were renovated, beautiful, spacious and comfortable. There were multiple places to relax outside, whether it be napping in a hammock under a tree, sitting in chaise lounges by the pool, or laying on a bed on the beach. The ocean was warm and clear with beautiful inviting waves.
The pool was refreshing and the hot tub, which was big enough to fit all of us comfortably, was the perfect place to have a cocktail after the sun went down. We spent a great deal of time at the bar next to the pool and at the bar behind the house listening to music, watching football and playing billiards.
The staff is what truly made this vacation paradise. Maria was outstanding at managing all of our needs. The food was incredible at every meal, the massages were an added bonus of luxury, and Carlos was willing to run out and pick up whatever we needed, whenever we needed it. Dean, the owner, went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday incredibly special and fun by honoring every crazy request that I had… i.e. getting us corn hole boards, beach volleyball, horse shoes, poker cards and chips, Chinese lanterns to release into the ski, etc… We can’t thank Dean and the staff enough for everything and we can’t wait to return to Villa Cocomar.

Phenomenal!
The home was perfect for our party of 22 which included children. There was always enough space and privacy for all of us. Despite safety concerns from the US, I did not feel unsafe once as the property had its own security onsite the entire time. We brought our own alcohol to stock the bar and if we needed more the staff was more than happy to grab our requests from the market.
So many wow factors of this property will make any other vacation hard to beat. Everything from Its private beach, relaxing atmosphere among the coconut palm trees, masseuse in the massage hut, hot tub, bar by the pool equipped with a huge speaker for music, second bar with the pool table, long dining table always prepped to serve authentic dishes from the DR by the staff, exquisite views, taxis ready to take you out on the town and the owner stopping by to greet you to make you feel welcome.
I WOULD DEFINITELY recommend this property to everyone!

Awesome Business Retreat!
We ran daily sessions in the morning, the bar located in the back of the grounds was perfect for this, protected from the wind, relaxing, and had all of the equipment we needed. We were even able to livestream a speaker in online.
In the afternoons, we kept Meriem busy with Massages. Juana kept us well fed. The food was amazing! Maria ensured that everything we needed was taken care of quickly. We loved having our own “resort” and the pretty well private beach.
We have already booked the Villa for next year!

The experience was by far the best we’ve had since doing this the past 4 years. The property was absolutely gorgeous with a breath-taking view of and access to the ocean! Our concierge, Maria, was fantastic in ensuring our time at Villa Coco Mar was unforgettable. She worked effortlessly and tirelessly with the staff to make sure we were happy the entire time.
The food…oh the food! Chef Juana had our mouths salivating and appetites satiated every meal! The magic fingers of Miriam on the massage table were pure bliss! Knowing that Santo and the security team were on constant patrol definitely provided a peace of mind. The hostesses and maids did an amazing job in keeping everything sparkling clean everyday. From the moment I inquired about availability Dean, the owner, was extremely attentive. From securing excellent steaks from Santo Domingo, to finding a great DJ, and also recommending a terrific bartender (Gabriella is very serious about her craft). From the moment we arrived Maria, the house manager, ensured that our stay was flawless. She is extremely professional and an extremely wonderful person.
The food was excellent and the chef baked some delicious birthday cakes. Be sure to take time for an outdoor massage with Miriam …. she is absolutely fantastic. The only downside to the trip was that I had to leave paradise and return to the ‘real world.’ But I’m already planning my next visit to Villa Coco Mar. Dean and the team offer unparalleled service.

The property is absolutely stunning, gardens and pool were maintained and cleaned every morning and the staff is so welcoming, kind and will do anything for you. Maria went above and beyond for us on more then one occasion and we felt like family by the end of the week. Dean and Maria helped organize a party with a live band one night which went on without any hiccup, a belly dancer who taught classes and a show. We did not have to worry about a thing while we were there and made for a relaxing vacation.
The food was fresh and delicious at every meal and waking up to the smell of cooking bacon is never a bad thing. Everything was more then I could ever imagine. It really was the trip of a life time

First of all – HUGE THANK YOU to Dean, the owner, and his team. Dean helped organize every single nuance of the trip from the private driver from the airport for our group to helping put together the best package of tours and excursions for our group and in a way that was economical, efficient and most convenient for our retreaters. His suggestions and recommendations and responsive communication made planning an absolute joy. His team is A+++++ from the villa hostess Maria to massage therapist Miriam to the chef Juana, security and etc.
Secondly, the villa is designed beautifully and the territory is zoned perfectly for different activities from dance fitness classes, to interval training to morning yoga by the pool to health discussion in a shaded area, cocktail hour and etc.
The rooms are elegant, clean and fully-renovated. All bathrooms are stunning and each one has a special unique design. Lastly, we are already scheduled to come back in May 2018 and we can’t wait to experience this paradise once again.

To start, Dean was extremely communicative from the moment I showed interest in the space. Helping me to plan my trip and even helping us save money on flights, Dean was absolute pleasure of a host.
The space itself is unbelievable. Stretched across the beautiful coast of Puerto Plata, DR, featuring 14 modern bedrooms, including 2 master bedrooms with living rooms, beautiful pool, huge jacuzzi, outdoor dining area , bar and billiards area and personal beach access- the house was beyond what we expected and the pictures do not do it justice!
The service was impeccable. We had 10 people working the estate, making sure we were comfortable, cleaning ever leaf from the pool as soon as it fell, raking seaweed off the beach, cleaning bedrooms and making beds
The hostess Maria is so nice and cool as well as willing to help. The chef cooked us up breakfast lunch and dinner everyday of our stay and I had some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. She is awesome. We were a group of 15 and ALL never felt more comfortable and happy then at this Villa. We literally did not leave the estate for our entire stay as you really don’t have too.
A Few Situations: One of us had a spazz attack and accidentally shattered a glass door while moving into their room within minutes of arriving. Dean was so chill and cool about the whole situation and only cared about our safety. The door was replaced within 2 hours.
One of us has an allergic reaction and the driver went out and got us Medicine at around 11:30 pm Last minute bonfire on the beach, threw us a party at the house, fresh breakfast every morning- I can go on forever- this was one of the best trips we’ve ever been on and it’s all due to Dean, his staff and his house.
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND I will be back!

All 14 guests that accompanied me had more than enough space and all give this resort 5 stars. We are already planning a return trip. I recommend this to anyone reading this review. The chefs prepared anything we asked and the food will make you never want to eat anything else. Our drivers took us anywhere our hearts desired at the drop of a dime. Security was not needed but we had guards protecting the Villa for our safety.

The website was tempting. The gracious demeanor of our host Dean assured us were in good hands. Photos can be deceiving – but arriving at Cocomar – we were instantly gratified. What a gorgeous property. Nestled on several acres alongside a strip of almost private ocean front – we were enchanted. Scattered across the property were “nooks” of privacy and areas to come together. Lush tropical plantings provide beautiful vistas. Whether lounging in the commodious hot tub, plunging in the pool, or partaking in a Zen-like outdoor massage with a caressing breeze or tanning on a tented sun bed, there was always someplace else to discover. A peaceful retreat.
Some went to play tennis nearby. Horseback riding on the beach was an option and then there was Cabarete – a short ride away. Renown for its kiting and watersports galore – it’s a funky “hippytown” with a Latin beat. We were spoilt by the attentive, always on call staff with Maria as concierge. Housekeeping was immaculate.
The meals outside under the white awnings were plentiful, creative, fresh and delicious. We were offered a variety of everything from island fare to traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Catering to so many different tastes was a feat in itself; always delivered with a smile.
All the rooms were beautifully appointed and the outdoor showers a dramatic plus. We loved the gathering for cocktails at day’s end in the little thatched house with walls for a game of pool or listening to Youtube favorites.
Again, we’d like to thank Dean for his warm, genuine hospitality. We carry away treasured memories of Cocomar – that far exceeded our expectations and hope to return.

For the housing accommodations, everything exceeded expectations. We showed up to a *perfectly clean* set of homes (if you do Airbnb enough, you know this is not a given…). The rooms were 100% ready for guests from the moment we arrived. The two buildings are separated by an easy walkway on one side, and a bar with a pool table/lounge on the other. Before we arrived, we were a bit anxious about the two houses not being connected – however, both homes were awesome, and really close together; the separation of the buildings in no way impacted our large group. It also gave people the more quiet option of getting sleep being a bit further away from the main hangout spots of the main home/pool/beach that had the potential to be a bit more noisy when everyone was up.
The property the homes are on is beautiful, and perfectly maintained.
From the photos you’ll see the property is covered in palm trees, a Jurassic park-esque jungle with walkways, and it’s literally on the beach. Absolutely beautiful! There were always areas with direct sun, and areas for shade if you want it. For a beach vacation with a big group of friends, there’s nothing more I could have asked for. Though sort of random, and also totally relevant, everything outside was really really comfortable. Plus there is an actual hot tub next to the pool.
The staff, simply put were A+. Greeted us at the gate, helped with our bags, kept the place immaculate, were always willing to help. There is security on the property. The owner (Dean) stopped by periodically to also ensure everything is running smoothly, and make sure all the food/drinks orders were being picked up. They were awesome and accommodating to all of the requests – which was honestly quite the task with a big group of us. we hired a chef through Dean, and between her, and the house staff, they took care of absolutely everything – setting tables, cleaning up, well worth it. There is even a spa and masseuse on site for massage services during the day, who is amazing.
Additionally, Dean organized a DJ and bartender to come to the property for my birthday party which was very fun. For dinner, he organized a pig roast and bonfire on the beach, which is something I’ll never forget.
The experience of the whole thing: could not have asked for anything else, and far exceeded our high expectations/hopes. Would go back, and have already recommended it to friends/colleagues.

Do yourself a favor and stay here for a memorable time with your friends, they will all thank you for it. Our host, Maria, was superb. She made sure all the guests were comfortable and well fed throughout the day, we even ordered drinks and meals off the menu. There was nothing that was off-limits for us, pampering beyond belief.
The property has its own private beach with the softest sand, and it’s clean too. The beach is beautiful at night too with the moonlight reflecting off the water. Stay up and watch the sunset or wake up early to watch the sunrise. And when you’re ready to treat yourself some more, get yourself an hour long massage with a masseuse. Whatever you choose to do on this vacation – at villa cocomar you’ll make memories for a lifetime. Enjoy!
